Beggar's Bag

Size 10 Crochet Thread
Size B or about a #7 hook
1 "bone" ring 3/4 to 1 inch in size
Finished bag is roughly 2.5 X 3 inches - not including chains.

Bag Body
Ch 3
(Ch 2 in rds 1-4 counts as dc)
Rnd 1 - 10 dc in 3rd chain from hook, join with SL ST in first dc (10 dc)
Rnd 2 - Ch 2, 2 dc in same st as join, 2 dc in each dc around, join with SL ST in first dc (21 dc)
Rnd 3 - Ch 2, dc in same stitch as join, 2 dc in next dc, *1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st * around, join with SL ST in first dc. (31 dc)
Rnd 4 - Ch 2, dc in same stich as join, dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc * dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc * around, join with SL ST in first dc. ( 40 dc)
Rnd 5-12 - Ch 3, dc in the last st of the previous round (this will form an "X") * Skip 1 dc, dc in next dc, dc in the skipped dc to form and "x" * around, join with SL ST in the top of beginning ch3 (20 X stitches per round)
DO NO CUT THREAD

Chains & Flap
Chain 20, attach to bone ring with SL ST, ch 20 and attach to the top of the first X, * ch 20, attach to ring, ch 20, skip next X and SL ST into next X * until you have 9 'ch 20', Ch 20 and attach with SL ST to the next X. ( 10 chains) [ you can also do a total of 20 by NOT skipping and X - this is tighter]
With the chains facing you add flap:
Row 13: With "back" facing you chain 3, take the first ch20 and move it next to the ch3, dc into the top of the first X on the opposit row/side where your chins ar not attached. Ch 1 * move the next ch20 over and dc in the top of the next X * Do this till you have captured all the ch20s.
Row 14 - 16: Ch3, turn, make "X" stitches as before until you have 9. Ch1, dc.
Finish and hide ends.
